Mangrove evenings

Food is part of feeling at home here.

Freshly prepared plates, an open-air table and time to stay for another conversation.

Morning

Breakfast, slowly

Breakfast brings together seasonal fruit, homemade breads and pastries, local specialities, juice, tea, coffee, eggs, yoghurt, muesli, cheese, tomato and avocado. Zanzibari soup or porridge can be prepared on request.

For an early transfer or excursion, the team can prepare a packed breakfast with advance notice.

Lunch and dinner by the sea

Lunch is mainly served by the beach, while dinner is often set there too. The open-air restaurant remains another relaxed place to eat, and ordering ahead is encouraged because meals are prepared fresh.

Menus take their cue from the island and the day’s ingredients: seafood, vegetables, coconut curries, dahl, pilau, sambusa, kachori, skewers, salads, soups and pasta. Marina’s Italian roots add another familiar thread.
